Even when it is cold here, often the sun is shining and there are no clouds in the sky. This is my favorite weather. In Germany it is so rare (according to my taste ) in autumn and winter to have cold, crispy, but sunny weather. Oita really spoils me. I had a long summer and the winter will be like this. たのしみにしていますよ。
Last week I went to university by bike like this. It was so warm!
Also worth mentionable, although old, used, and crappy, my bike has become my best friend. (At this point my family might fail to avoid grinning at the screen, because my lazy arms and legs usually only operate a car and no bike...)
We (German international students) could not live without our bikes. We use them to go everywhere. University campus is 45 minutes by bike, the train station / downtown only 5 minutes! This is especially convenient, as there is no bus from Kaikan to train station / downtown - it takes us 20 minutes to walk! In the beginning when we did not have bikes it was really annoying to walk every morning.

We got the bike from a salesperson introduced by our janitor Mr. Oishi. I would also recommend for future international students to get a bike from him. It is convenient - he comes to the Kaikan, brings the bikes, and does the registration. All the bikes with three gears cost 5,000 Yen in total (including registration).
