Day 2: Tokyo

Today we went to the Asakusabashi district, a place for artscraft shopping, and then to the Akiba district, the centre for electric appliances and a manga mecca.

On the way between Asakusabashi and Akiba. We had very nice weather today.

Asakusabashi was pretty unexciting, but we found some nice shops where you could buy material for making jewelries, decorating, etc.

How dolls are made

Askiba is a funny combination of electronics and manga. Many shops were offering their electric appliances by hanging manga posters in front of their shops. Many girls on the streets who were distributing brochures, were dressed like manga figures. Cosplay is the Japanese way of wearing costumes - not only on motto parties, but on the streets. It is like meeting manga figures come alive.

Please sit down.

They really exist!

We had a really relaxed day, which is a good compensation to this busy and packed city. Some places are so packed with people that you just cannot make your way through the crowds without. We spent our day walking around, taking time to go into some shops, drink some coffee, look around.
