Waterfall

I went with Marius (also Paderborn student), his wife Ludmila, and Gerard (Netherlands) to Beppu to walk to an impressive waterfall, which Marius had found some weeks ago. It is called Otobarunotaki. It was supposed to be not so easy to find, hidden in some forest in the mountains. We went up the mountain and the view was very nice. I had a lot of fun this day - walking with this group of people was very nice, we talked all way long, the weather was warm and sunny, and the way was not steep or exhausting. I liked it so much, that actually one week later I went again ^^

View on Beppu

On the way we passed an amusement park. It looks very primite, old, and shabby. There are also almost no people inside. It looks kind of scary. Not only does the rollercoaster look too old to pass a TUV inspection, but also the emptiness of this park is scary.

I wanted to peek over the fence, which is as high as I am, in order to have a look at the amusement park. I almost hit this spider with my nose. Seriously. Scary thing.

The way to the waterfall

The weather was warm and sunny

It's huge!
I wish I had a better camera, mine often takes blurry pictures and the colours are faded.

It is an exciting feeling to stand at the foot of the waterfall

Not many people go here, so it is a quiet place, where you can enjoy the beauty of nature.

  1. Really nice sightseeing! I think people can enjoy bathing there, of course in summer!
Did you try hot spring in Oita? It should be a wellness, isn't it?

  2. We went to an Onsen an I felt like being cooked because I chose the wrong pool.
